Today’s lesson was to make happy, sad and surprised cartoon faces. Also, the campers drew variety of cartoon eyes, noses and mouths. I was confident about my project plan, but managing the classroom was definitely challenging. For instance, I wanted the campers to come up with their own facial expression to show an emotion, like excited, worried, angry etc. I learned that I needed to teach them how the eyebrows and mouth move for specific emotions. In the afternoon, the campers worked on the comic books! The campers came up with unique stories like Guinea Pig Farm, a marriage of college sweet hearts, and Hello Hawaii.
